Eileen Ford, RIP

fordThe founder of  Ford Models and one of the great New York women died on Wednesday. Eileen transformed the modeling business and basically invented supermodels, for which I guess we should be grateful. Maybe not. We only met her a couple of times, but each time was memorable. Though not quite as memorable as her famous comment about overly thin models, “I never worry about fat people worrying about thin people, because slender people bury the dead.” She also wins, hands down, for the best NY Times obit photo ever. Click on the masseuse for the full story.
