Marc Fornes wins 2013 Architectural League Prize

Les Danseurs creator Marc Fornes has been awarded the prestigious Architectural League Prize 2013. The Prize, for Young Designers and Architects, had as its theme “Range” and invited designers to express the ‘range they operate within and how they range reacts as they encounter perceived limits of the profession”. This tied in perfectly to the work Marc did for Moss Bureau, which was all about pushing the limits of aluminum toward expressing figural movement.

Therefore, we’re very proud to say that Les Danseurs have left the building. Five of the seven figures have been moved to Parsons, where they have been installed as part of the Architectual League exhibit celebrating all six of the 2013 Prize winners.

Forne’s work will be on view at the Sheila C. Johnson Design Center on 66 5th street from June 25 – August 1, 2013. The exhibition is open daily from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and late Thursday evenings until 8:00 p.m. On Thursday June 27, Marc will lecture about his work.
