Federico to the rescue, pretty much

This is young Federico, economics student, who was our driver for three days in Milan. He has cancelled his Sunday of important television watching in order to drive us from Milan to Florence where we are scheduled to fly to Madrid on Monday morning. Then on Tuesday, fly to Atlanta and connect to Laguardia. All was well until we hit the center of town whereupon Federico’s VW Golf suddenly died. The hotel sent a cab and F found friends who sent a repair truck for his car, but we should have recognized the omen. Florence airport has closed. More later as the Journey Home continues.
